John Dale "J.D." Capps, Sr., 88, died September 10, 2015. He was born June 5, 1927, in Almyra to Robert E. Lee Capps and Elizabeth Dora Zimmerman Capps.
J.D. was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and three sisters.
His survivors include his wife Joyce Watkins Capps; three children Regina Davenport, John Jr. "Buggs" Capps, and Roger Capps all of DeWitt; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother Orbie Capps of Lubbock, TX; and one sister Audrey Ward of DeWitt.
Funeral services were held September 13 at Essex Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens by Essex Funeral Home. essexfuneralhome.com
