Thomas Aaron "Toby" Brown, 80, of DeWitt, died Feb. 27. He was a retired laborer and a member of Hebron Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Gertrude Brown; eight brothers, J.C. Brown, William Brown, George Brown, Cecil Brown, Dan Hudson, Otto Hudson, Owen Hudson and Nelson Brown; two sisters, Eathel Vansandt and Daisy Young; and a son-in-law, Charles Hamner.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Patsy Ruffin Brown; two sons, Danny Brown and his wife, Donna, of DeWitt and Jimmy Brown and his wife, Vicki, of DeWitt; two daughters, Barbara Hamner of St. Charles and Patti Morehouse and her husband, Norman, of DeWitt; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held March 2 at Essex Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens.
