Karean Marie Brewer Newton, 36, of Newark died at her home on Sunday, October 21, 2007. She was born Friday, November 6, 1970 in Batesville and was the daughter of Waymon and Rose (Weinrich) Brewer. Karean was a homemaker and she also worked at Moore's Dairy Bar and was a cook at Catfish Wharf. She was also the manager at the Exxon Quick Mart in Newport for a time. She was a very jolly and loving person who kept everyone laughing. Karean loved old time rock ‘n roll, reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, board games, bowling and she also loved to fish. Her children and family were very important to her and she loved to cook and bake for them. Karean was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Dowdy.
She is survived by her parents, Waymon and Rose Brewer of Newark; two sons, Waymon Brett Newton and Aaron Dale Newton; and one daughter, Sammatha Marie Jackson all of the home. Her sister, Victoria Taylor of Sandtown also survives her as well as one niece and two nephews.
Karean was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Homer Lee and Mary Lee Brewer; maternal grandparents, Louis Vance and Edna Mildred Weinrich; and three uncles, Arthur "A. D." Brewer, Fred Weinrich and Melvin Weinrich.
Pallbearers are Jerry Brewer, Marvin Brewer, Ricky Brewer, Brian Newton, Brad Helms, and Michael Walker. Honorary pallbearers are Brad Brewer, Jason Brewer, Louis Weinrich, George Brewer, Will Taylor and Mike Hill.
Funeral services are at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Roller-Crouch Chapel with Brother Dennis Gay officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Hopewell Cemetery in Cord under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
