James "Jimmy" E. Reed, 77, of Wooster, died on Dec. 12, 2013.
He was born May 27, 1936, in Pleasant Valley, Ark., to the late James T. Reed and Audrey (Hankins) Reed.
Jimmy was a lifelong farmer and a member of the East Fork #323 Masonic Lodge. He retired from the Sheriff's Office after several years of service. Jimmy also was a Veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sylvia B. Reed of Wooster; son, James "Hal" Reed of Wooster; daughter, Kelly McLaughlin and husband Clint of Quitman; three grandchildren, Tori McLaughlin, Haley McLaughlin, and Cole McLaughlin; and a brother, Charles Reed of Wooster.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Helen Houser.
Pallbearers: Keith Ferrell, Tony Cummings, Gary Patton, Brian Russell, Mark Wilcox, Travis Burchfield.
Honorary pallbearers: Eddie Burnett, Jerry Pearson, Rudy Pearson, Sam Martin, Cleon Koone, Carlton Burnett, Jimmy McClain, and his Masonic Lodge Brothers.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, with Bro. Freddie Mark Wilcox and Dr. Virgil Porter officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier.
