Elizabeth Celestine Duckett Havens left this world to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 7, 2017. She was born July 20, 1930 in Enola, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur, her daughter, Pat Weeks, her parents John Thad and Lucy Brady Duckett. Also preceding her in death were her four siblings, Mattie Hulsey, Mary Lee Wilson, John Brady (JB) Duckett and Elsie Cardin.
She is survived by her daughter, Becca Lefler (Dickie), son-in-law, Randy Weeks, grandchildren, Jeff, Joey, and Jeremy Weeks, Katy and Lance Lefler, great grandchildren Anna and Ava Weeks and a host of nieces and nephews.

Celestine graduated from Enola High School and Arkansas State Teacher’s Collage (UCA) with a major in music. Her love for music began long before college graduation. While her husband was in the Navy, stationed in Millington, Tennessee, Celestine taught private piano lessons to more than 20 students. When the family moved to California, she was the church pianist at Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Santa Clara for five years. In 1962, Arthur retired from the Navy and their family moved back home to Arkansas. At that time Celestine completed her degree. In 1965, She began her teaching career in elementary school music in Conway. In the beginning, Celestine traveled to all four elementary schools to teach music but later settled at Ida Burns Elementary, where she was their music teacher until retirement. Her deep love for teaching music to young children brought her great joy for 27 years in the Conway School District.

Celestine accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a faithful follower of Him her entire life. Conway’s First Baptist has been her church home since 1962. In her church, she has taught Sunday School, children’s choir, Vacation Bible School and was a member of the adult choir. Celestine has been a strong witness for Christ to her family, friends, and strangers alike. She felt her greatest purpose in life was to share the redeeming love of Jesus.

The family would like to thank the Conway Regional third floor medical team and Kindred Hospice for their compassionate care. Also, a very special thank you to Dr. Thomas Kovaleski at Little Rock Diagnostic Clinic.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Conway. A service of celebration will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church, 1719 Robinson Avenue, Conway, Arkansas 72034.
