Bobbie Rae Maxwell, age 79, of Russellville, Arkansas died Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home. A daughter of Roy Ray and Carrie Jessie Skaggs Shuck, she was born September 16, 1929 at White Deer, Texas. She was a former employee of Sears, from 1967 through 1989, was a long time member of the Pottsville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women where she had served as an officer in the former Conway District UMW, was a member of the Pope County Home Extension Homemakers Club, serving in various offices, the Pottsville Home Extension Homemakers Club and was named the "Homemaker of the Year" in 1994. She was active in Butterfield Days at Pottsville and Picklefest in Atkins,Arkansas and was a County Fair Judge in several counties. She was a volunteer with the Red Cross Bloodmobile, the Pope County Library and Meals-on-Wheels. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe E Maxwell, and brother, Joe V Crowley. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law: Susan and Randy Barefield of Russellville,Arkansas; and Diana and James Hendricks of Marshall,Arkansas; grand children: Jeff, Tyler and Lauren Barefield, all of Russellville,Arkansas; Bret Hendricks of Russellville,Arkansas and Blake Hendricks of Marshall.Arkansas and sister, Janet Wagnon of Muleshoe, Texas. Memorials may be made to the Pottsville United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 96, Pottsville, Arkansas 72858.
