Rev. Delbert Avaugh Vaughan, age 96, of Moreland, died Thursday, September 2, 2004 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 18, 1908, at Nogo, Arkansas, the son of the late Enoch Lafate Vaughan and the late Famie Elizabeth Curtis Vaughan. He was retired from International Shoe Company and was a Free Will Baptist Minister for over 64 years, having served in numerous churches in the local area. He was a Mason for over 57 years, a member of Shiloh Masonic Lodge and the Atkins Eastern Star. The last few years he attended the Hatley Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Callie M Romines Vaughan.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Nona Faye Vaughan of Dover, Whitey and Claudia Vaughan of Russellville, and Gerald and Sherry Vaughan of Ft Smith; 9 grandchildren, Vickie Harris, Suzanne Mears, Cheryl Flippo, Tanya Baker and Michelle Prochazka, all of Russellville, Rose Dover of Dover, Brandy Pitts of Atkins, David Vaughan of Moreland, and Lisa Bice of Los Angeles, California; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10 A. M., Tuesday, September 7, 2004, at Hatley Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Lester Barnes and Rev. David Downum officiating. Burial will be in Rock Springs Cemetery, near Hector, by Shinn Funeral Service.

Pallbearers were Leon, Whitey, Gerald and David Vaughan, John Flippo and Henry Chronister.

Honorary pallbearers were Prelo Harris, Toby Dover, David Mears, David Pitts, Robert Prochazka, Tim Baker and Georgia Vaughan.
