Ellen Sue Austin, 79, of Atkins,Arkansas received her wings and entered into the gates of Heaven on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at the Atkins Care Center. She was born August 23, 1936, in Pottsville,Arkansas to Fred and Cora Mae Heflin Kendrick.

She married the love of her life, Bernell "Fatman" Austin on March 22, 1958, and together they owned and operated nine different cafes, as many as four at the same time. She was a member of the New Beginning Independent Assembly Church at Center Ridge, a Past Worthy Matron of the Atkins Chapter 512 and Arkansas Valley Chapter 606 Orders of the Eastern Star, a Past Deputy Grand Lecturer of the Arkansas Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, James Bernell Austin; granddaughter, Traci Locke and sister, Sylvia Heflin. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Mike Clark of London, Arkansas; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Karen Austin of Atkins, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, 6 brothers, 6 sisters and a host of nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers were Michael, David B and Richard Austin, John Morton, Daryl Thalman and Jonathan Berry. Honorary pallbearers were Tina Victory, the nurses and staff of the Atkins Care Center, and Dr Timothy Johnson.
