Tommy A. Martin the husband of Brenda L (Hensley) Martin. Brenda L (Hensley) Martin the daughter of William Jackson Hensley.
NEWARK – Brenda Martin, 52, of Newark died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Batesville.
Born Dec. 4, 1949, at Batesville, she was the daughter of William Jackson Hensley.
She was a 1969 graduate of Newark High School and married Tommy A. Martin on Sept. 19, 1969.
She was employed by Batesville Manufacturing and White-Rodgers Co. and had worked at the Newark schools as a cook for several years. She was a member of Oil Trough Church of Christ. She was a Brownies troop leader for several years and volunteered at the Newark schools with activities for the children. She enjoyed sewing, and over the last several years enjoyed four-wheeler riding with her husband and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Tommy A. Martin; a son, Shane A. Martin of Newark; a daughter, Sloan Nicola Fulbright of Bono; a sister, Linda Mills of Benton Harbor, Mich.; and two aunts and an uncle, Velma Garner of Newark and Jean and Robert “Bob” Dunehew of Cape Fair, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her father.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oil Trough Church of Christ with Craig Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery at Cord with arrangements by Jackson’s Newark Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Cossey, Doug Cossey, Tim Anthony, Adam Vinson, J.C. Cook and Michael Darr.
