The Reverend W A Berg, 88, of Russellville, finished his race and went home to be with his Lord Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock. The son of Dave and Bessie Berg, he was born September 20, 1925 in Arkansas County. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and also served in the Army National Guard. He was an ordained minister with Assemblies of God for over 60 years. His accomplishments include raising his family and faithfully serving the Lord. He was a member of the Damascus Assembly of God Church, the American Legion, Rogers-Rye Post 2283 Veterans of Foreign Wars and a lifetime charter member of the Washington DC National World War II Memorial. He enjoying going to church, antiquing, raising farm animals and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. W A was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Oca Dean Berg; daughter, Diane Berg; mother, Bessie Berg; & 2 siblings; Evalena Shumate and Jackie Berg. Survivors include his daughters, Scharlette L Maxwell, Alvine L Caldwell and husband Terry both of Russellville; grandchildren, Roger D Gray and wife Betty, Danielle Gray, both of Russellville and Shawn Caldwell and wife, Grace of Hope; great grand children, Dalton Gray and wife Elexus of Okinawa, Japan; Dusty Gray, Elliot Metz, Gracie Metz, all of Russellville, and Mia Caldwell of Hope; three sisters, Anna Salley, Dora Inman and Kathryn Stiers; brothers, Floyd Berg and Junior Berg; sister-in-law, Juanita North; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extend family.
Pallbearers were Darrel May, T R Hayes, Ronnie Hayes, Randy Hayes, Johnny May and Orville Berg. Internet obituary and on-line guest book are available at www.humphreyfuneral.com.


OcaDean Berg, 85, of Russellville, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 30, 2013 with her family by her side. The daughter of James and Minnie P Morning May, she was born June 21, 1927 in Arkansas County, Arkansas. She married W A Berg, September 23, 1946 at Hot Springs. She was a Assembly of God Licensed Minister and a member of the Damacus Assembly of God Church. Oca Dean was a member of the Ladies Auxilary American Legion. She enjoyed teaching the word of God, sewing, cooking, and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Berg; her parents and eight siblings.Left to cherish her memory are her husband, W A Berg of Russellville; daughters, Scharlette Maxwell of Russellville, Alvine Caldwell and husband Terry of Russellville, grandchildren, Roger Gray and wife Betty of Russellville, Danielle Reese and husband Chris of Russellville, Shawn Caldwell and wife Grace of Hope; great grandchildren, Dalton Gray and wife Elexus of Russellville, Dusty Gray of Russellville, Elliot Metz of Russellville, Gracie Metz of Russellville, Mia Caldwell of Hope; sister, Juanita North of Stuttgart and many loving extended family and friends.
