Audrey Ellen Nixon Whittington, age 87, of Hermitage, Arkansas died Monday at Arkansas Heart Hospital, Little Rock. She was born February 14, 1918 in Bradley County, Arkansas a daughter of the late Henry Nixon and Mittie Lee Anders Nixon. She was a homemaker, a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the home extension club of Yell County.

She married Ezra Q. Whittington on September 12, 1935 in Bradley County, Arkansas and he died December 9, 1961.

Surviving are 2 sons James Whittington, Warren, Ark. and Willis Whittington, Hermitage, Ark; 2 daughters Opal Nelms and Linda Justice both of Havana, Ark; 2 grandchildren Sherry Albright, Waveland, Ark. and Penny Smith, Havana, Ark; 5 great grandchildren Justin Crites, Joseph Crites and Shelby Albright, all of Waveland, Ark, Cody West and Hannah Smith both of Havana, Ark. A sister Oma Smith Williams also preceded her in death.

Funeral services were 1:30 pm Wednesday, March 23, at Frazer's Chapel with Rev. Ricky Smith officiating. Janice Sullivan was organist and soloist were Dottie Smith, Wesley Jones and Barbara Jones. Burial was in Holly Springs Cemetery at Hermitage by Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren.

Active pallbearers were Justin Crites, Joseph Crites, Coty West, Jason Smith, Aaron Albright and Dennis Miller.
