Lucy Ila Reed, 92, of Hot Springs, formerly of Dover, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Quapaw Care in Hot Springs. The daughter of Otto and Ilien Alberta Wimmer Ware, she was born October 4, 1921 in Ozone.

She was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, where she served in the Women’s Army Corps (WAC). After receiving her LPN from Petit Jean Vo-Tech, she took on a job with Saint Mary’s. Lucy is remembered as a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, being in the outdoors, vegetable gardening, canning and flower gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years Bearl E Reed; her parents; a brother, Leslie "Bill" Ware; and sister-in-law, Mavis Ware. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Randy Reed and wife Susan of Lonsdale, Danny Reed and wife Donna of Plainview; 3 grand- children; 2great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Otto Lee Ware of Missouri, Nolan Dudley Ware and wife Frances of North Carolina; and dear friend, Selma “Lucille” Dennis of Russellville.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Arkansas Programs & Services, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.
