Carl "C E" Morphis, 93, of Russellville, Arkansas, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at St Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, Arkansas. The son of Walter and Carrie Belle Chenowith Morphis, he was born March 9, 1916 in Russellville. He enjoyed driving his truck and was the owner of Carl E Morphis Trucking for over 60 years. He was a member of the Russell -ville First Assembly of God Church where he was a former Deacon in the church and member of the A Y's. Carl loved the church ministries and was an active contributor. He was preceded in death by his wife Geneva Stump Morphis; his parents; a daughter, Donna Rains; brother, James Morphis.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Freeman & husband Jim of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother, Charles Morphis & wife Lila of Russellville; sister, Juanita Ricket of Russsellville; 5 grandchildren, Jan Guadalupe & husband Jim of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Danny Rains & wife Andrea of Tampa, Florida, Debbie Keeling of Russellville, Gene Freeman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, David Rains & wife Donna of Russellville; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 great- great-grandchildren.
A special thanks to Dr Jeff Yates, nurses and staff of St Mary's Regional Medical Center.
Active pallbearers were Jim Gaudalupe, Gene Freeman, Danny Rains, Jimmy Gaudalupe, David Rains and Daniel Rains. Honorary Pallbearers were Eli Keeling, Mark Freeman, Patrik Rains, Levi Gilbert, Bill Heathcoat, Mark Hubbard, and Billy Hubbard.
