June 22, 1884 - June 27, 1965
W. F. Powledge, 81, of 411 W. First St., a retired carpenter, died in a local hospital Sunday night. Mr. Powledge was born at Shuler June 22, 1884, the son of Phillip M. and Nancy Elizabeth Means Powledge. He was as member of the First Methodist Church and of Mt. Moriah Lodge No. 18, F. & A.M. of Lisbon. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Thomas A. Grunden if El Dorado and Mrs. James Orr of Winona, Miss., two brothers, Sexton Powledge of Kilgore, Tex. and Ernest Powledge of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. Velma Warren and Mrs. Annie Ritchie, both of El Dorado; and four grandchildren. Funeral services have been announced for Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Pratt Funeral Home with Dr. C. Ray Hozendorf officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Mason, Wade Morgan, Ernest Rauert, Meek Powledge, Rex Jorgensen and Jack Cawling. (The El Dorado Times - June 28, 1965)
