September 13, 1879 - September 14, 1964
Mrs. Siddie Smith, 85, member of a pioneer family of Union County, died early Monday at her home, No. 10 Wilson Place, following a brief illness. For many years Mrs. Smith was employed as a saleslady in several El Dorado stores. She was born in Lawson, Sep. 13, 1879, the daughter of James and Mary Simmons Ramsey. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and a lifelong resident of this county. Surviving are a son, J. Hubert Smith of Dallas, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary S. Miller of El Dorado; a sister Mrs. J. A. Marrable, also of El Dorado; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services have been announced for Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Rumph Mortuary, Dr. Don B. Harbuck and the Rev. Rhine McMurry will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
