Obituary

Pearl Freeman, age 84, of Appleton died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Conway Regional Medical Center. She was born August 23, 1932 in Stigler, Oklahoma to George E and Jennie Lea Honea Bascue. She attended the First Baptist Church and retired from Levi-Strauss. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd "Jimmy" Garlin Freeman; a brother, John Bascue; a sister, Joy Anderson; one son, Floyd W Freeman; and 2 great-grandsons, David Allen Jackson and Landon Hill. Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Carlyn and Robert Shoptaw of Atkins and Lisa and David Rackley of Appleton; a son, James Freeman of Atkins; a sister, Edith Bailey of Russellville; one aunt, Irene McKee of Altus; 13 grand- children; 29 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am, on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at the Shinn Chapel with Rev Johnny McCoy and Rev Ricky Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in Tate Cemetery near Appleton and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her son, James Freeman, and her 2 sons-in-law Robert Shoptaw and David Rackley. Memorials may be sent to American Cancer Society, attention Judy Murphy, 126 Lakeview Circle, Russellville,Arkansas 72802.
