Ewell Ray “E.R.” Coleman of Little Rock, formerly of Cord, died and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 27, 2018. He was born on October 12, 1925 in Cord, AR to Ewell Winfred and Hazel Estella Greer Coleman.

He was a businessman, farmer and land owner. He farmed in the Cord-Dowdy community. He was a faithful member of the Cord Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lois Florene Hugg Coleman of 62 years, a granddaughter, Jennifer LeAnn Kennedy, a brother, Van Doyne Coleman and a sister, Winona Coleman Penn.

He is survived by his children, Carol Coleman-Kennedy of Little Rock, Kathryn May (Larry) of Little Rock, Donald Coleman (Deann) of Batesville; grandchildren Ashley Kennedy Holmes (Kevin) of Jonesboro, Winfred Isaac Coleman (Jennifer) of Batesville, William David Coleman (Lane) of Fayetteville, Whitney Coleman Massey (Josh) of Batesville, and Andrew McLarry May (Christie) of Mt. Enterprise, Texas; great grandchildren Kennedy LeAnn Holmes of Winchester, Colorado, Kathryn Elizabeth Holmes of Jonesboro, Caden Lawrence Coleman of Fayetteville, Cooper Isaac Coleman, Caitlin Frances Coleman, Chloe Greer Massey and Clinton Coleman Massey, all of Batesville; great step-children Kahya Woodward and Kira Smith of Mt. Enterprise, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Winfred Isaac Coleman, William David Coleman, Josh Massey, Andrew May, Kevin Holmes, and Joe Greer.

Honorary Pallbearers are Benny Green M.D. and Jim Williams.

Funeral Services will be held at the Cord Baptist Church on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Reverends Bobby Coleman and Jeff Childers will be officiating.

Interment will follow at the Hopewell Cemetery, Cord, AR.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at the Cord Baptist Church.

Lois Florene Hugg Coleman, 84, of Little Rock, formerly of Cord, died and went to be with her LORD Monday, February 12, 2007. She was born November 2, 1922 in Strawberry to William Baxter Hugg and Allie Lou Gardner Hugg. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Kathleen Hugg Harris; a brother, Kenneth Hugg, and half-brothers, Gardner Williams and Floyd Hugg, and granddaughter, Jennifer LeAnn Kennedy.

Ms. Coleman was a retired homemaker. She and her husband of 62 years, Ewell Ray Coleman, farmed in the Cord-Dowdy community and were owners of First National Bank in Batesville in the 1980's. She was a member of the Cord Baptist Church and Lydia Sunday School Class. Ms. Coleman served as teacher in Sunday school for many years and she was a member of the Chapter Z, PEO in Batesville.

Ms. Coleman is survived by her husband, E.R. Coleman of Little Rock; two daughters, Carol Coleman-Kennedy and Kathryn May and son-in-law, Larry May of Little Rock; one son, Donald Ray Coleman and daughter-in-law, Deann Dodd Coleman of Batesville; two granddaughters, Ashley Kennedy Holmes of Little Rock and Whitney Dodd Coleman of Fayetteville; three grandsons, Winfred Isaac Coleman of Batesville; William David Coleman of Fayetteville; and Andrew McLarry May of Little Rock; two great-granddaughters, Kennedy LeAnn Holmes and Kathryn Elizabeth Holmes of Little Rock; and great-grandson, Caden Lawrence Coleman of Fayetteville.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Benny Green, M.D., Susan Kay Martin, APN; our dear caregivers Karen and Kelly Cardenas, Lee Williams, Bonnie Jeffrey, and Willene Morris Whitlow.

The family will be celebrating the life of Lois Florene at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Cord Baptist Church with Reverends Gary Mitchell, Jerry Kausler, and Bobby Coleman officiating. Interment will be at Hopewell Cemetery at Cord, Arkansas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m on Thursday at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville (870) 793-4161. Memorials may be made to Cord Baptist Church, PO Box 126, Cord, AR 72524 or a charity of one's choice.

Pallbearers are Ms. Coleman's grandsons: Winfred Isaac Coleman, William David Coleman, Andrew McLarry May and nephews: Eddie Harris and Ronald Coleman; and grandson-in-law Kevin Holmes.
