Obituary
Joel Daniel “J.D.” Wallace, age 95, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away on June 8, 2018. Born on October 31, 1922 in Landis, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Felix and Della Passmore Wallace.

J.D. was a loving son, father, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in World War II in the 389 Anti-Aircraft and Automatic Weapons Battalion and stateside during Korea in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He had been employed with Civilian Conservation Corp, the Federal Forestry Service and the Census Bureau. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Sugarloaf Masonic Lodge # 414. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. He was also a member of the National Association of Federal Employees, the Republican Party and the Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gerean Wallace, his son Joel Phillip Wallace, his sisters Delores Wallace, Ditis Wallace and his brother Delmer Wallace.

He is survived by his son Dwight Wallace and his wife Cindy of North Little Rock, Arkansas and his grandson Luke Wallace of Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Wallace is also survived by his other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Olmstead Funeral Home with funeral services following at 1:00 pm with Masonic funeral rites and Rob Ford officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Flatwoods Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas
