Mrs. Bernice Barber
Mrs. Bernice Barber of Newark Arkansas departed this life on Friday, June 10, 2016, at the age of 88. She was born November 9, 1928, in Cord, Arkansas, the daughter of Chester Arthur Winston and Ira (Dugger) Winston.
Mrs. Barber worked at Victor Metal in Newport, the shoe factory in Batesville and was a licensed hairdresser. She also volunteered many years as caretaker of Edwards Cemetery.
Mrs. Barber was always willing to help anyone in need. Taking care of her family was her greatest love; she would go without to give to her family. She will be remembered as a giving, generous lady who loved everyone.
Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Barber on March 20, 2015, and her parents, and one brother Ray Watson.
She is survived by one son, Daniel Arthur Barber of Newark; one daughter Myra Gail Barber Twyford and husband, John, of Batesville; one sister Muriel West of Moorefield; two grandchildren, Robert Jordan Barber of Newark and Kayla Nicole Barber of Batesville.
Graveside service will be Sunday 10:00 a.m. at Hopewell Cemetery
