Harlin Jobe, 86, died August 31, 2010, in Lancaster, California. He was born in Atkins May 8, 1924, the son of Lewis and Ollie Parish Jobe.

He served in the US Army during World War II in the 479th Amphibious Truck Company, 1st Engineers Specal Brigaade, and made the Invasion of Normandy at Omaha Beach. He retired from the military in 1965. His second retirement was in 1986, from AVHMC, where he worked as a steam engineer.

He liked to garden. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He also had a special affection for his little Yorkies “Tiger” and “Pooh.”

He is survived by his wife, Mary Klaer; son, Larry Jobe (Cathy) of Lancaster; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary R. Dickerman of Atkins; brother, Lamarr (Ruth) Jobe of Newman, Texas; nephew Glenn (Gayle) Austin of Conway; stepson Sam Zoda, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bells Chapel Cemetery, Attn: Thomas Willcutt, 1908 West Main, Atkins, Arkansas 72823.
