Near Lincoln
3 Killed In Car Crash

A head-on collision late yesterday afternoon brought death to three persons on Hwy. 62 a mile west of Lincoln.

Dead in the 5:40 p.m. crash were Ralph L. Johnson, 64, of Summers; his wife, Mrs. Sula Ann Johnson, 63; and Aubrey (Pat) Brock, 45, of Lincoln.

Trooper James Morgan said Brock's west-bound station-wagon swerved across the center line of the highway and smashed head-on into the Johnson's east-bound pickup truck. Both vehicles were demolished.

Morgan said neither vehicle left skid marks before the impact. Investigators have been unable to determine why Brock's vehicle swerved suddenly into the path of the truck driven by Johnson.

Mr. and Mrs Johnson were apparently en route home when the accident occurred. Brock is believed to have been on his way to Prairie Grove, where he operated a tavern just west of the city limits.

All three victims were taken to Prairie Grove's Elizabeth Hospital by Luginbuel ambulances. They were pronounced dead on arrival.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Harrison, while his wife was born at Floydada, Tex. They came to Summers from Harrison about two years ago. Both are members of the Methodist Church.

Mr. Johnson is survived by a son, William G. of Lincoln; his mother, Mrs. W. L. Johnson of Harrison; two brothers, Roy of Harrison and John of Lemon Grove, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. E L. Patton of Monett, Mo., Miss Mamie Johnson of Harrison, Mrs. Carlos Boyd of Berryville, Mrs. Clyde Russell of Bellefonte and Mrs. Theo Ashcraft of Little Rock and one grandchild.

In addition to her son and grandchild Mrs. Johnson is survived by a sister, Mrs. W. C. Mauzey of Lubbock, Tex., and three brothers, Terry, Sam and Roscoe Fort, all of Lubbock.

Double funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Summers Baptist Church. Burial will be in Summers Cemetery under direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Brock was born Feb. 14, 1919; at Odell. He had spent most of his life in the Morrow area.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Cavett Brock of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Gay Nell Ganotti of Chicago, Mrs. Patsy Sparks of Tulsa and Glyn of the home; a son, Preston of the home; a step-daughter, Mrs Peggy Curtis of Lincoln; three brothers, Burt of Lincoln, Herbert of Morrow and Merle of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Daisy Glascock of Lunnock, Tex., and five grandchildren.
