Obit:
C. Laverne Ricketts Danner Thomason Berry, 81, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at home. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: 10 a.m. Saturday in De Ann Cemetery in Prescott, Ark.
Fort Worth visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood. Visitation in Arkansas: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brazzel-Cornish.
Laverne was born Dec. 24, 1932, in Batesville, Ark., to Ezra J. Ricketts and Minnie Mae Brown.
She was a member of Normandale Baptist Church, where she was a nursery worker for 40 years, before moving her membership to First Baptist of White Settlement.
In 1955, she and her first husband, Calvin Danner Jr., moved to White Settlement where they raised their children.
Laverne was a PWM three times of W.S. OES #1053 and a member of Castleberry #1028.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Peggy J. Baker; husbands, Calvin Danner Jr. (1972), Olen Thomason (1979) and George L. Berry (2001).
Survivors: Son, Calvin Danner (Jan) of Hanceville, Ala.; daughter, Becky Santiago (Vic) of Crowley; grandsons, Kevin Danner (Cheryl) of Etowah, Ga., James Ballard (Shauna) of Cleburne; granddaughter, Lisa Hodges of Henderson; great-grandchildren, Chase Danner, Kaelynn Ballard, Cade and Jordan Hodges; brothers, Roy Ricketts (Mary) and Troy Ricketts (Mary Francis), all of Gurdon, Ark.; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends.
