Thomas Vernon Acklin, Sr., age 80, of Yellville, Arkansas, died Friday, November 24, 2006, at the Marion County Nursing Home. A son of the late Arthur and Dora (Alexander) Acklin, he was born January 13, 1926, at Culp, Arkansas. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Jerome Masonic Lodge No. 61 in Jerome, Idaho. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by, his wife of 32 years, Belvia (Jones) Acklin of Yellville; four sons, Thomas Acklin, Jr. of Pocatello, Idaho, John, James and Eddie Acklin all of Springdale, Arkansas; Charles Biggers of Wichita, Kansas and Jerry Biggers of Yellville. Two daughters;Jo Ann Booner of Pocatello, Idaho and Dorothy Cordell of Springdale, Arkansas. Three sisters, Tribe Jones of Gassville, Arkansas, Mary Szedegy of Mtn. Home, Arkansas and Unalea Kirk of Thayer, Missouri; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, November 27, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at the Galatia Cemetery near Mtn. Home, Arkansas with burial in the Galatia Cemetery.
