WASSMAN, Dora B. HELTERBRAN - Dora B. Helterbran died at Love's Sanitarium Sunday morning, May 8th, after a very serious operation on Saturday morning. She had been in poor health for some time but even her dearest friends did not know her condition was serious until a few days previous to her death. She was very hopeful and patient and talked to her loved ones of the future but despite all the faithful physicians and nurses could do she was called Home. The funeral was held at her home Monday at 2:30 and was conducted by her pastor, Rev. J.W. Sturdy. The profusion of beautiful flowers testified to the love and esteem in which she was held by her friends. Burial was in the Rogers cemetery. Dora B. Helterbran was born in Texas August 14, 1883. While a very small child she moved with her parents to Avoca where her childhood was spent. She united with the M.E. church at Brightwater in 1908. Later her membership was moved to Pace's Chapel. She was married to John C. Wassman October 18, 1904 and to them were born two children, Hugh and Harry, and both survive her, together with the husband. She is also survived by her father and mother, F.M. Helterbran and wife, and three sisters. Few people had a busier life than Dora Wassman; always ready to perform deeds of love for her friends and family. She never refused a call in sickness or death. She will be missed in her home, in her community and by her friends and pastor. This community extends their heartfelt sympathy to the heartbroken husband and sons and other bereaved relatives.
