Jesse Van “Boots” Weese, 87, of Dyer passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in Van Buren.
He was born April 27, 1935 in Dyer to the late George and Bonnie (Johnson) Weese.

He worked at Dixie Cup, owned Weese Janitorial Service and serviced the corporate offices of Baldor Electric in Fort Smith. He retired from Rheem Manufacturing after 22 years. In retirement, he worked for the janitorial services of the Alma Schools. He served in both the Army and the Marine Corps. He was a member of the Dyer Assembly of God Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Teri Jo; one sister, Louise Hawkins; and two brothers, Bill Weese and Raymond Weese.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Velma (Furr) Weese of the home; three daughters, Wanda Bass and husband Jimmy of Van Buren, Julie Cox and husband Kevin, and Karen Weese and Vance Hogue, all of Alma; two sons, David Weese and wife Judy of Alma, and Phillip Weese and wife Richelle of Conway; two brothers, Scott Weese and wife Jean of Claremore, OK, and Ralph Weese of Alma; eleven grandchildren, Gerry Bass, Jesse (Joey) Bass and wife Katherine, James Edward Bass and wife Rachel, Myranda Victoria and husband Juan, Mark Cox, Katie Cox, Jordan Hogue, Logan Hogue, Landon Hogue, Jason Hogue, and Ben Weese; and nine great-grandchildren, Easton Bass, Kyndall Greene, Evie Victoria, Ellie Victoria, Ian Victoria, Isaiah Victoria, Valen Hogue, Kierynn Chester and Madalynn Montgomery.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ronnie Gilmore officiating followed by committal at Dyer Cemetery, under the direction of the Edwards Van Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Gerry and Joey Bass, Mark Cox, Landon Hogue, Juan Victoria, and Ben Weese. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Millsap, Tommy Leaky, and Roger Huckey.
