Obituary:

Louis Ray McFarland, 78, of Alma, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016 in his home.

He was a retired Conductor for Union Pacific Railroad, a retired Executive Broker for Jim White Realty where he worked for 20+ years and a member of Butterfield Assembly of God Church. He was a 1956 graduate of Alma High School. He was born October 5, 1937 in Jayton, Texas. Louis was an avid gardener, traveled to all states except Alaska, loved reading and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Alice (Goodwin) McFarland; two grandsons, Michael Drew and Dustin Ray; one sister, Rayoma and a brother, Jerry.

Service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Ocker Chapel of Alma with interment in Dyer Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruth Porter McFarland of the home; three children, Mickey, Teresa and Pam McFarland; Grandchildren, Amanda and Jeremy Shores, Whitney and Danny Ray and Jessica Chitwood; great grandchildren, Delaney, Keegan and Charlotte; two nieces, Rena Smith and Flo Green; one nephew, Tommy Hale and his beloved dog, Baxter.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Shores, Danny Ray, Claude Hatley, Earl Ross, Jim White and Blake Rogers.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Chuck Clark
