When William Henry Hawkins was born on July 20, 1857, in Georgia, his father, William, was 34 and his mother, Martha, was 22. He married Amanda Frances Williams on February 15, 1880. They had three children during their marriage. He died as a young father on November 16, 1886, in Old Hickory, Arkansas, at the age of 29, and was buried in Hattieville, Arkansas.

Amanda Frances Williams was born on September 25, 1861, in Dalton, Georgia. She married William Henry Hawkins and they had three children together. She also had one son and three daughters with george washington kelley. She died on September 24, 1945, in Old Hickory, Arkansas, at the age of 83, and was buried in Hattieville, Arkansas.
