Arthur Barlow Freeman, 77, of 602 S. Bellott St. died at a local hospital at 4 p.m. Thursday following a brief illness. Born Nov. 7, 1887, in Clark County, Ark., Mr. Freeman was the son of Thomas B. and Charlotte Owens Freeman. He was a retired carpenter and a resident of El Dorado for 44 years. He was a member of the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church near Arkadelphia. Survivors include: his widow, Mrs. Alma West Freeman, El Dorado; two sons, A. B. Freeman, Jr., El Dorado, and Paul Freeman, Monroe, La.; two daughters, Mrs. James O. Hodge, El Dorado, and Mrs. Joseph Paul, Falls Church, Va.; one brother, T. Q. Freeman, Arkadelphia; three sisters, Mrs. Carl Miller, Little Rock, Mrs. Edith Helms and Mrs. Joe Melgin, both of Arkadelphia; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Rumph Mortuary with the Rev. J. Wilson and Dr. C. Ray Hozendorf officiating. Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Ralph Hampton, Walter Mitcham, M. L. Raley, E. A. Patterson, Robert VanHook, J. W. McPherson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Carpenter's Local 1683 and Dr. Berry Moore, Sr., and Dr. Moore, Jr. (The El Dorado Times - March 26, 1965)
