November 28, 1895 - May 1, 1964
Louis W. Elza, Sr., 68, of 102 Milling Dr., died at a local hospital Friday following a short illness. He was born Nov. 28, 1895 in Mulberry, the son of J. M. Elza and Izoria Hickman Elza. Mr. Elza was a druggist by trade and had worked at El Dorado for 35 years. He then lived in Little Rock for three years. He was a member of the Arkansas Pharmaceutical Association and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Little Rock. Survivors include one son, Louis Elza, Jr. of El Dorado; three daughters, Mrs. Hugh Alderson of El Dorado, Mrs. Eldon Chapman of Kirkwood, Mo., and Mrs. Wames Qualls of Little Rock; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Don Harbuck officiating, assisted by Dr. Kenneth Snipes. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Young's. Pallbearers will be James Harper, Roy Anderson, Dick Smith, Harry Bledsoe, A. F. Peters, Edmon Mahony, Joe Bill Thomas and Mack Hall. (The El Dorado Times - May 2, 1964)
