January 1, 1887 - October 20, 1969
Matthew W. Ambrose Chitwood, 82, of 1200 D Ave., died Monday in a local hospital following a brief illness. He was born Jan. 1, 1887, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., the son of Richard L. and Amanda Chitwood. He had been a resident of El Dorado since 1922, a member of the Second Baptist Church and a retired railroad worker. Survivors include two sons, Matthew Allen Chitwood, Huttig, and Richard L. Chitwood, El Dorado, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Young's Chapel, Wednesday, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Tom Bray officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery.
