Jack R. Foster son of Ernest Foster and Mary (Harvey) Foster. Jack R. Foster he husband of Hazel Marie (Peters) Foster. Hazel Marie (Peters) Foster daughter of Mathew W. Peters and Annie Josephine (Ross) Peters.

Jack R. Foster, 75, of Pocahontas, died May 28, 2008, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

Born March 5, 1933, at Egypt, he was the son of Claudie Ernest and Mary Lee Foster.

He was a farmer and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Foster; a son, Jackie Foster, Hoxie; three daughters, Barbara Burnside, Jonesboro, Donna Whittaker, Walnut Ridge, and Connie Langston, Black Rock; two stepsons, Leslie Hancock and Michael Hancock, both of Pocahontas; a stepdaughter, Tammy Manning, Pocahontas; two brothers, Harold Foster, Michigan, and Jimmy Foster, Illinois; three sisters, Shirley Smelser, Walnut Ridge, Betty Forkum, Paragould, and Virginia Barton, Jonesboro; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m. in Bryan Chapel with A.J. Stracener and A.J. Henry officiating. Burial was in Whittaker Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Danny Warren, Chris Blevins, Kyle Smelser, Bill Gay, John Fears and Ed Golden. Honorary pallbearers were Tollie Beary and Ray Dacus.
