Verlon "PoPo" Hillis Farmer, 92, of Greenbrier, AR, went to be with the Lord Monday, July 30, 2018. He was born June 23, 1926 in Mt. Vernon, Ar to the late Samuel and Ethel (Stone) Farmer. Verlon was preceded in death by his brothers; Melvin, Doyne, and Cartha Lee Farmer and his grandson; Rusty Lewis.
Verlon was a faithful member of the Coppers Springs Baptist Church in Guy. He devoted his life to his family and the Lord. Verlon enjoyed deer hunting, riding four wheelers, camping, and playing with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Verlon was loved very much by his friends and family, who will dearly miss his words of wisdom.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family, his wife of 67 years; Martha Sue (Lasley) Farmer, his four daughters; Carol Maxwell, Diane (James) Bradshaw, Debra (Dudley) Henry and Valerie Lewis; grandchildren, Kim, Kenneth, Amanda, Michael, Shayla, Paige, and Samantha; eleven great-grandchildren, sister; Wanda (Joe) Jones, and three nephews.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Copperas Springs Baptist Church in Guy with visitation one hour prior, interment to follow at Copperas
