Sally Ann Downum, 67 year old longtime resident of Elm Springs, Arkansas, died on February 7, 2018 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas. Born on October 5, 1950 in Sioux City, Iowa.
She was the daughter of James Joseph VonTersch and Loretta Baurely VonTersch. Sally Ann married Donald Wayne Downum on November 15, 1968. She worked as a cook for the Springdale school system for many years and also was a cook for the Kappa Delta Sorority House at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; James and Loretta VonTersch and two sisters, Angie and Joan Catherine.
She is survived by her husband Donald Downum of the home, two sons; Chad Downum and wife Sarah; Brad Downun and wife Julie; and one daughter; Amy Hood and husband Jason all of Elm Springs, Arkansas, as well as six grandchildren.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Elm Springs United Methodist Church in Elm Springs, Arkansas. Burial will follow at the Elm Springs Cemetery, with Carl Palmer officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
