Erwin Edward Oliger, age 93, of Formosa, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at his home. He was born March 23, 1923 on Woolverton Mountain in Conway County, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Claude Oliger; a brother, Oda Oliger; three sisters, Lee Graham, Edna Tanner and Irene Hawkins. Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Lorene Prince Oliger; a son Darrell (Carol) Oliger of Center Ridge; a daughter Kay (Orbin) Allen of Center Ridge; three grandsons Morris Allen, Kevin (Ellen) Allen and Jeremy (Crystal) McMahan; one granddaughter Kimberly (Clay) Blake; five great-granddaughters Elizabeth Allen, Olivia Allen, Jill Blake, Addie Blake and Ella McMahan; one sister Jean Collar and one brother J.C. Oliger along with many nieces and nephews. Erwin retired from the Arkansas Highway Department after 32 years of service. He was a member and elder of the Formosa Church of Christ for 50 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was very devoted to God and his family. He took great pride in his garden and shared his bounty with his neighbors and friends. The family would especially like to thank Conway Hospice Home Care and Starla Mackey for their excellent care of Erwin. The family would also like to express much gratitude to Alicia Spears, Rosemary Sowell, Sharon Caldwell, Ruth Allen and Pat Pruitt for all their assistance in his care. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Formosa Church of Christ followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Ted Knight and Adam Eppes officiating. Burial will be at the Center Ridge Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are Orbin Allen, Ron Collar, Jim Hawkins, Jr., Carroll Hawkins, Randy Oliger and Wayde Prince. Honorary Pallbearers are Louie Prince, Morris Allen, Kevin Allen, Jeremy McMahan, Clay Blake and Jerry Graham. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Southern Christian Home in Morrilton, Arkansas.
