DECATUR — Milo Blaine Carter, 74, of Decatur, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at the Mercy Hospital in Rogers.

Milo was born on Feb. 23, 1940 in Wakefield, Kan., a son of Tony Arthur Carter and Lola Gladys Stevens Carter. He married Ella Louise Weeden on June 25, 1982 in Miami, Okla. Milo worked for the Gentry High School as a custodian. He enjoyed fishing, camping, barbecuing and spending time with family especially his grandchildren. Milo served in the U. S. Navy and in the Arkansas National Guard.

Milo is survived by his wife, Ella Carter of the home; one son, Tony Weeden and wife Brandy of Pineville, Mo.; four daughters, Laura and husband Jack Horst of Christianburg, Va., Connie and husband Randy Waddell of Roanoke, Va., Cathy and husband Brian Epley of Radford, Va., and Chrissy and husband Jason Kirk of Westville, Okla.; one brother, Lester Carter of Roxbury, Kan.; three sisters, Verna Faulk of Decatur, Ark., Sharon Crowder of Salina, Kan. and Shirley Zenth of Mo.; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Tony Carter Jr, Donald Carter and Arvin Carter; three sisters Margie Kuhn, Veda Monk and Bertha Smith; and by one grandson, Tyler Weeden.

Visitation will be held at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 from 6-8 p.m.

Graveside Services will be held at the Falling Springs Cemetery near Decatur on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at 2 p.m. Milo's nephew Billy Baker will officiate the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
