Robert Jennings, 76, of El Dorado, AR died Thursday, August 13, 2015, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was healed by the grace of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He was born in Gravel Ridge, near Banks, AR, on December 17, 1938. Robert has been married to the love of his life, Fonda Norman Jennings, for 57 years. They made their home in El Dorado, where Robert worked in the automotive industry as a parts manager for over 46 years. He was an active member at East Main Baptist Church for 48 years. Robert was an avid sports fan. He supported many local sporting events. He could be seen year round attending as many ballgames as he could. Robert was a very proud Papaw to four grandsons that he loved and adored very much. He had many friends for whom most he had a nick name.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Jimmie Bea Jennings of Banks, AR; his sister, Sue Wilson of El Dorado, AR; and nephew, Clay Wilson of El Dorado, AR.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Fonda Jennings of El Dorado; two daughters, Joni Jennings Fields (Shay) of Rockwall, TX and Jill Jennings Reynolds (David) of El Dorado, AR; four cherished grandsons, Brad Fields and Brent Fields of Rockwall, TX, and Dylan Shields and David (Whit) Reynolds, Jr. of El Dorado, AR.
Visitation will be held at Young’s Funeral Directors of El Dorado from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15th.
Funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 16th, at East Main Baptist Church with Bro. Lawrence Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at McFarland Cemetery in Banks, AR under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
