James “Jim” Buckley Gordon, 82 of Ashdown, AR passed on January 7, 2017. Jim was born in Spaulding, OK on September 17, 1934 to Walter and Iva Gordon.
He grew up in Spaulding, OK and enjoyed playing basketball. After graduating from Spaulding High, he earned his bachelors and master’s degree at Oklahoma State University in 1961. He had a master’s degree in Chemistry and was an avid Oklahoma Cowboys fan. He was in the cement industry where he finished out his career as Plant Manager with Ashgrove Cement in Foreman, AR retiring in 1989. He married the love of his life Modenia Parker Gordon in 1956.
Jim leaves behind his wife Modenia, son David, daughter-in-law Cathy, three grandsons, Cole Gordon, Jason Gordon, Joseph Gordon, and two great grandchildren, Sophia Rose Gordon and James Walker Gordon.
He was predeceased by his father, Walter Green Gordon and mother, Iva Watters Gordon, son James Buckley Gordon, Jr., grandson Ty Parker Gordon and six siblings. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Graveside services will be held at the Wilton Cemetery, Wilton, AR on Friday, January 13, at 1:00 PM.
