Deborah “Debbie” Ann Bonner, age 62, of Ozark, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2017 at Mercy Ozark, after a heroic battle with cancer. She was born November 19, 1954 in Carson, California, the daughter of Gerald “Cotton” and Betty Ramsey.
Debbie, a 1972 graduate of Charleston High School, married her high school sweetheart, Charles “Charlie” Bonner on June 23, 1973. Shortly after, they moved to Ozark, Arkansas where they raised their three children, Charlie, Cale, and Bethany. Debbie was instrumental in starting Calvary Baptist Pre-School in Ozark, where she became one of their first teachers. She taught countless children and shared the love and gospel of Jesus Christ for 28 years. Debbie was also a treasured member of First Baptist Church-Ozark where she served in Children’s and Women’s Ministry.
Debbie loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed camping, playing games, and being Nana to her precious grandbabies. Debbie, always the planner, ensured that her friends and family were taken care of whether it be through prayer, fellowship, or a home-cooked meal.
Debbie was preceded in death by her loving father Gerald Ramsey, and her adored son Charlie “Bubba” Bonner. Debbie is survived by her husband, Charlie Bonner of Ozark; her two children, Cale Bonner and wife Shirley of Ozark, and Bethany Lucius and husband Tony of Ozark; four grandchildren: Jonathan Minyard, Savannah Minyard, Camdyn Lucius, and Annalyn Bonner; her mother, Betty Ramsey of Charleston; her brother Mike Ramsey and wife Autumn; her sister Melinda Cunningham and husband Jeremy of Charleston; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Ozark with Brother Bill Kuykendall and Brother Ben Larimore officiating with burial at Mt. View Cemetery under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Serving as pallbearers are Lucas Skaggs, Kevin Ryles, Maxey Helmert, Steven and Jeremia Gage, and John Warren.
