Neomi Sue Hooks Johnson, age 84, of Banks, AR. died Wednesday June 27, near Warren, AR. in an automobile accident. Born May 20, 1928 in Banks, AR. a daughter of the late Frank Hooks and Maude Kitchens Hooks she was a retired teachers aid from the Warren School system, member of Banks Missionary Baptist Church and the widow of David Allen Johnson, Jr. who died April 23, 1991. They were united in marriage May 24, 1948. Also, preceding her in death was a brother Warren Thomas Hooks. Survivors are 1 son David Allen Johnson, III., Banks, AR. 1 daughter Debra Johnson West, Banks, AR., a son in law Freddie West, Banks, AR., 4 sisters Georgia Smith, Lillian Baker, Dixie Young and Shelby Kiersey all of Banks, AR. 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 30, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Janice Sullivan was organist and Debra Johnson West was soloist. Burial was in McFarland Cemetery at Banks, AR. by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Trent VanDerzwalm, Keeton Hudson, Don Hudson, Jeff Strong, Mark Baggett and Warren Hooks. Honorary pallbearers were Jaker Smith, Lawrence Kiersey, Danny McDiarmid, Charles Sindle and Dr. Joe H. Wharton.
