Bernice Gates Adams, age 95, of Warren, AR, died Sunday April 24, at Chapel Woods in Warren, AR. Born February 9, 1921, in Gravelridge, AR, a daughter of the late Willie Ted Gates and Mable Dailey Gates she was retired from Potlatch Corporation, member Banks Missionary Baptist Church and the widow of Barney Adams who died November 16, 1973. They were united in marriage December 19, 1944. Also preceding her in death were brothers: Alva Gates, Jimmy Gates, Ernie Gates, Willie Gates; sisters Ethel Johnson, Marie Osborn, Evelyn McMurry. Survivors are 2 sons DannyAdams, Banks, AR, Bobby Adams, Sheridan, AR. 2 daughters Glenda Adams, Hermitage, AR, Susan Adams Hall, Rayville, LA. 1 sister Noma Kitchens, Banks, AR. 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral service was 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Sidney McGraw officiating. Burial was in McFarland Cemetery at Banks by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Darren Adams, Bobby Ray Adams, Laith Adams, David Barnett, Jr., Justin Hall and Kyle Holley. Honorary pallbearers were Jackie West, Steve Parnell, Steven Dawkins and Clifford Gates.
