James L. Hawkins, 97, of Mulberry, Arkansas, passed away, Sunday, January 19, 2014 in Ozark.
He was a resident of Mulberry for 51 years. He retired from Hickory Springs Manufacturing as a maintenance supervisor in Fort Smith and also United Carbon Company in Kansas. He was a very active outdoorsman and loved to fish. There wasn't much he couldn't fix or build. His specialty was making and selling cedar swings.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Ruby Battles Hawkins; 5 brothers and 6 sisters.He is survived by 1 son, Jerry Hawkins and wife of Ironton, Missouri; 2 grandchildren, Stephany Dick of Jay, Oklahoma and David Hawkins of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania; 8 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews.
