James David Stone, age 58, of Morrilton, passed away June 10, 2009 in Colorado from health problems on one of his many motorcycle trips. He was born December 11, 1950 a son of James Loyd Stone and Ernestine Willis Stone. He was of the Baptist Faith and attended mass with his granddaughter Paige at Sacred Heart. He retired from Arkansas Highway Police after 20 years of service and was a member of the Blue Knights. He enjoyed flying, hunting, camping with grandchildren, four wheeling, and boating. Survivors include his wife Peggy Watters Stone; one brother Johnny (Judy) Stone of Plumerville; two daughters, Barbi (Walt) Kordsmeier of Morrilton and Tiffany (Casey) Orvin of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren, Paige Kordsmeier, Carter, Grant, and Kennedy Orvin; and two nieces, Lendsey Gottsponer and Lora Jones. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Charles Thessing officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Center Ridge, Arkansas by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Family will receive friends 3:30-5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Toys for Tots in Conway County.
