We must preserve and enhance
this historic resting place
The Bold Pilgrim Cemetery Preservation Association
(BPCPA) needs the support of its stakeholders and friends to
ensure the success of preservation efforts, special projects
and maintenance. Maintenance includes: grounds keeping; refuse disposal; tree and stump removal; monument
cleaning; stabilization; restoration; and annual fill-in of grave depressions. The annual cost for these activities is approx $5,000. A $100 annual minimum contribution from each stakeholder will provide the needed resources to enable BPCPA to preserve and maintain this historic treasure. After;
thorough assessment of the cemetery, it was determined
that two special projects should be completed during 2008
The first is the enclosure of the cemetery with a historically significant metal fence and entry gate. The gate and fence will secure the cemetery property against vandalism to the historic markers and other cemetery property.
The second is the installation of a memorial monument
listing names of those buried at Bold Pilgrim who rest
in unmarked burial sites within the Bold Pilgrim's borders. The total cost of these projects is an estimated $45,000. BPCPA invites all friends and stakeholders to become a major project sponsor. Each sponsor will be acknowledged with a prominently displayed permanent plaque. The plaque for the Entry Gate (one sponsor was $10,000) will be displayed in the arch of the gate. The plaques for the fence sections (seven (7) sponsors of $3,500 each) will be placed in the center of the sponsored section. The memorial monument plaque (20 sponsors @ $500 each) will be displayed on the monument.
Your tax deductable donation will ensure that these worthwhile ongoing activities and special projects becomea reality. Checks should be made payable to the the Bold Pilgrin Cemetery Preservation Association and mailed to 94 Givens Lane, Morrilton, AR, 72110.
