When Elizabeth G. Johnson was born on December 3, 1914, in Arkansas, her father, Vasco Johnson, was 26, and her mother, Ada Ethel Rainey, was 29. She married Velmer Polk on September 19, 1930. They had four children in 12 years. She died on February 14, 1995, in Morrilton, Arkansas, at the age of 80, and was buried in Center Ridge, Arkansas.
