Jo Ann (Bray) Ford Daughrity the daughter of Oscar Newton Bray and Alice (Ruminer) Bray. Jo Ann (Bray) Ford Daughrity outlived each of her spouses.


Jo Ann Bray Ford Daughrity, age 80, of Batesville, Arkansas died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 in a Batesville hospital, after a long battle with cancer.

Born October 29, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Oscar Newton Bray and Alice Ruminer Bray.

Jo Ann did clerical work at the North Arkansas Clinic and 21 years at White River Medical Center. After retiring from the hospital she worked as a volunteer for several years at the cancer center and the hospital.

She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Batesville.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Louise Ford of Sidney; a daughter-in-law, Donna Ford of Mt. Pleasant; one step-son, Dean Daughrity of Bella Vista, AR; one step-daughter, Vicki Daughrity Buchanan of Clayton, GA; one granddaughter, Diana Stevens of Sidney; one grandson, Zack Ford of Mountain View; four great grandchildren, Alicia and Dylan Stevens, Thomas Oyler and Harlee Pittman; seven step-grandchildren; several step-great grandchildren; two sisters, Verna Ruth and Johnny Rayburn of Dale City, OK and Betty and Gerald Gaither of Batesville; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, James Havyl Ford and Doyle Wayne Daughrity; one son, Steven Dennis Ford and one granddaughter, Stephanie Ford Pittman.

Services are Friday, December 26, 10:00 a.m., at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Batesville with Bobby Shepherd officiating.

Burial will follow in the Barron Fork Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant under the direction of Willis Funeral Service of Batesville.

Visitation is Thursday evening from 4-6 p.m.
