When Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Hill was born on May 3, 1854, in Lick Mountain, Arkansas, his father, Scarlett, was 27 and his mother, Hanna, was 28. He married Hannah Jane Elizabeth Polk on January 1, 1871, in Center Ridge, Arkansas. They had seven children in 20 years. He died on March 10, 1931, in Center Ridge, Arkansas, at the age of 76, and was buried there.
