Colin Joe Funderburg, 63, of Van Buren, died January 31, 2014. He was born December 17, 1950, in Bingen, Arkansas to the late James Warren "Doc" Funderburg and Cornelia Pomrenke. He is a 1968 graduate of Lamar High School and he graduated from the University of the Ozarks Summa Cum Laude, in 1972. He coached and taught English at Lincoln, Lavaca and Atkins. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Ronald Funderburg.Joe is survived by 2 daughters, Jenny Mitchell and husband, Matt, of Hot Springs and Cara Mayall and husband, Matthew, of Cordova, Tennessee; 2 brothers, Jim Funderburg and Gary Funderburg, both of Alma; a sister, Mary Jane Bittick of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 2 granddaughters, Kailey and Emily Mitchell, both of Hot Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
