Mr. Joe E. Bennett, of Altus, Arkansas, died Saturday, November 16, 2002, in Ozark, Arkansas. Mr. Bennett was 59 years old. He was a member of the Alix Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife: Phyllis Bennett; five sisters: Linda Lott and Geraldine Cagle, both of Ozark, Arkansas and Louise Schue and Flora Mae Jones, of Gilbert, Arizona, and Iva Gracy of Napa, California; two brothers: Harold Bennett of Ozark, Arkansas and Jay Bennett, of Gilbert, Arizona; other relatives; and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, November 18, 2002, at the Alix Assembly of God Church. Mr. Bennett was laid to rest at the Houston Cemetery in Alix, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were: racy of Napa, Calif.; and two brothers Harold Bennett of Ozark and Jay Bennett of Gilbert, Ariz. Pallbearers will be Kevin and Aaron Hurt, Harbert and Randy Jones, Randy Kensworthy and Mike Rofkahr.

Phyllis Irene Bennett, 74, of Altus, Arkansas died Monday, September 18, 2017 in Altus.
She was born March 12, 1943 in Altus to Raymond and Vivian Mayfield Hurt.
She was a homemaker and a member of Coal Hill Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Bennett; two brothers, Johnny Hurt and Irvin Hurtt; and a sister, Jack Fay Randolph.
Phyllis is survived by a sister, Jo Ann Sampley of Claremore, Oklahoma; three brothers, Kenneth Hurt of Charleston, Arkansas, Dale Hurt of Alix, Arkansas, and Lee Hurt of Des Moines, Iowa.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 22, 2017 at Coal Hill Assembly of God Church with Brother John Kindrix officiating and burial at Houston Cemetery in Alix under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Hurt, Andy Hurt, Josh Hurt, Kenton Hurt, Allen Hurtt, and Kristopher Hurt.
