Vera Nadine (Holloway) Wehunt the daughter of Henry Clay Holloway and Bertha Mae Hubbs Holloway. Joseph "Joe" Doyle Wehunt the son of Edward Gayle Wehunt and Addie Persis (Greene) Wehunt.

CAVE CITY – Vera Nadine Wehunt, 69, of Sidney died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, at a Batesville hospital.

Born March 15, 1932, at Pringle, Texas, she was the daughter of Henry Clay and Bertha Mae Hubbs Holloway. She was a homemaker, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church at Zion.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Wehunt; two sons, Joe Dean Wehunt of Pine Bluff and James Edward Wehunt of Cherokee Village; five daughters, Elaine Bitting of Cord, Jacquelyn Shamlin of Little Rock, Karon Yohn of St. Paul, Naomi White of Sulphur Rock and Tabitha Moore of Batesville; a brother, Jerry Holloway of Fayetteville; four sisters, Maxine Walker of Porter, Okla., Minnie Jordan of Florida, Marie Ackerman of California and Nancy Edsell of Sacramento, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Nolan Holloway; a sister, Sybil Marie Reed; and two grandchildren, Aaron Smith and Katherine Bitting.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel at Cave City with James Henry Morris and Steven McGee officiating.

Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery at Zion.

Pallbearers will be Keith Wilson, Dennis Gay, Clint Bailey, Richard Downing, Tim Smith and Rodney Downing.

Honorary pallbearers will be the doctors and nurses at White River Medical Center.

Joseph Doyle Wehunt, 78, of Alma, died Friday, March 27, 2009 at his home.

He was born Wednesday, April 16, 1930 at Bear, Arkansas in Garland County and was the son of Edward Gayle and Addie Persis (Greene) Wehunt.

He was a minister for 57 years and preached in churches in Arkansas and Mississippi. Mr. Wehunt was a member of the Central Missionary Baptist Church and the Antioch Masonic Lodge #241.

He is survived by two sons: Joe Dean Wehunt of Pine Bluff and James Edward Wehunt of Alma; five daughters: Jacquelyn Shamlin of Little Rock, Susan Elaine Bitting of Cord, Karon Irene Yohn of Pettigrew, Naomi Ruth Bristow of Cave City and Tabitha Ann Moore of Batesville; twenty-three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Imogene Meekins of Bee Branch, Arkansas.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Nadine (Holloway) Wehunt; one grandson, Aaron Thomas Smith; one granddaughter, Catherine Nicole Bitting; one brother, Paul Harlie Wehunt; and two sisters: Helen Addie Spotts and Grace Reynolds.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at the Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church on Highway 25 in Batesville with Bro. James Wehunt, Bro. Bruce Morris, and Bro. Philip Wysocki officiating. Bro. Ron Provence will be in charge of the music.

The burial will follow the services at Antioch Cemetery in Zion under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Batesville.

Pallbearers will be Joey Shamlin, Timmy Smith, Justin Bitting, Clinton Yohn, Clayton Yohn and Geoffery White.

Honorary pallbearers are Cody Moore, Josiah Yohn, Joel Wehunt, and all ABA ministers.
