September 19, 1879 - December 22, 1967
Walter Alexis Alderson, 88, Wesson Road, died early Friday in a local hospital after a brief illness. Born in Union County on Sept. 19, 1879, he was a member of three pioneer families of this region. His parents were William I. and Harriet Pendleton Alderson. He was a retired farmer and oil company employe and a member of the Frist Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Margaret Lacy Alderson; two sons, Boyd Alderson and Walter Earl Alderson, both of El Dorado; a daughter, Mrs. Joe H. Hooten of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Anglin of Junction City and Mrs. Eula Eiland of North Little Rock; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Young's. The body will be carried to the family home at 3 p.m. Friday. Active pallbearers will be William Jones, Arnold Jones, Dr. Robert E. Lacy, Edwin Alderson, Alan Alderson and Hugh Alderson. Honorary pallbearers will be men of the First Presbyterian Bible Class. (El Dorado Times - December 23, 1967)
